On the EQ topic, there is an option to adjust Bass, Mid and Treble frequency as well as a "Q" range (not sure what this is, I'm not much of an audiophile). That's separate from the normal EQ menu where you just turn Bass, Mid, Treble and Sub up and down. This is all when you are using the unit's built-in amp with its DSP chip.
If you have an aftermarket amp, my understanding is the same as Tobes_WIR35, and that is that the speaker as well as subwoofer outputs should send the raw unadjusted signal through for your amp to do the legwork. The amp connects to the speakers as well as the subwoofer, it does not just "play the lows". Frequency response, gain, noise, distortion etc are all balanced by the amplifier. It processes the audio signals, including applying any HPF / LBF if the amp has that feature, and outputs the adjusted signal to the speakers / sub.
Some devices do have pre-out EQ but anything much more than basic volume adjusting for pre-outs is frowned upon. After all the point of having a shiny big amp is to have that shiny big amp do the audio processing.
Regarding the early batch, it seems today they are doing final testing of CAN-Bus updates with the unit installed in the car. The CAN-Bus update issues appeared resolved with the unit in isolation but after the decoder made communications with the car's CAN-Bus it still can run into the botched update issue. They anticipate this to be fixed tomorrow. The reason they will not send the unit is because until they apply the necessary firmware fix to stop this issue, the updates need to be done at the factory (some form of bench flashing I assume instead of the normal SD card procedure) to prevent risk of bricking the unit.
In the meantime my incessant requests have paid off and the manager gave me (much deserved) extra priority so so far 24 units have already been produced as of today for my first batch order, ready to ship once the CAN-Bus fix is applied. In total the early batch has nearly 30 units so fingers crossed by the end of the week they will ALL ship.
