They go for around $900 but, in my case, I require a VW bluetooth kit as my Mk5 wasn't specced with one by the first owner and the 9w7 is the recommended kit and that costs $360 on eBay (along with the added grief of getting the main unit under the driver's seat and the mic cabling up the A pillar and in to the overhead light console).
I think if you give yourself a weekend for the install, you'll be able to run the bluetooth and mic no worries. Then you'll have OEM plug & play kit.
Unfortunately we don't know what the mic in the production DNS's will be like. There must be a reason why all car manufacturers run their OEM bluetooth kits up towards the drivers side A pillar. If it works well as part of the stereo i'm sure they wouldn't go to that effort.
