The only other option, as far as i'm aware, that comes remotely close, are the Zenec units. They don't have the OEM style GUI, but they do have full MFD functionality, including nav instructions. They're pretty expensive, but (~$1200+).

ANS, Zenec or even RNS.

I know they aren't as whizz bang as what the DNS promises to deliver, but at least they are tangible.

I have an RNS (I have low standards lol) & my lil girl loves watching Kung Fu Panda every time she gets in. Hard to imagine what the last 4 mths would have been like without it (if i had to wait on the DNS

)

Be patient, the problem is that AudioSources told that they were working on a new device. We already know that they are slow, so let's wait until the device is finalized.

My ETA is new year. Will it be our Christmas present?

At that price, you'd be daft to not just buy an RNS-510!

I wish they would tell us the truth and say it will be ready by xmas. ..then we could order the ans instead.

If there there was/is a unit similar to what what the dns may offer (may how its not complete and it keeps changing what it doesn't / cant offer) I think I would be on board to jump over to it.

There are many but they all cost a lot more. Any of the Pioneer AppRadio units, RNS-510, any of the Sony Mirrorlink units...

However, if you want to pay less than $1000AUD, you are limited to a choice of one!
