I to had no problems getting my deposit refunded 6 months ago.
I ended up with an RNS and 9W7 Bluetooth module for not to much more than the DNS and everything works smoothly as it should.
That's what I've been saying all along, the RNS may not be as 'exciting' as this unit but hey, it works... even before this GB started 12 months ago it worked well. I'm sorry but this unit was a disaster from the beginning...
Can't believe it's been 12 months & still issues, Happy Anniversary :(
For my GT I went with a Pioneer AVH-X8550BT. It worked out a touch more expensive but I gained full iPhone App Radio functionality. I was also a bit nervous about installing the VW BT module as my car didn't have it from the factory.
For my new Tiguan, I've gone straight for an RNS-510; a latest revision one running with an SSD!
Sandy is a classact, he refunded me on the unit it sent back and also gave me some advise towards the android units, if AS was doing and android unit now ID be in, unfortunately they are on the old wince

I got a refund a week back and ordered a similar type of WinCE unit from Dig Options.
Will post a review of it once I receive/install it.
Eh? No more included accessories than you get with any other unit. I guess you're talking about the options though? Same as any other unit as well. Looks like its the exact same unit I had (same software, same button layout, same hardware). It was actually hateful to use. Every time I hopped in the car I wanted to stab it with a knife. Either way, if you dont want to wait until AS gets their **** together with the DNS, you're better off just going and getting the Eonon unit, at least you know what you're getting (cheap generic chinese wince unit with a better OS, and some support). Plus that Digoptions unit is expensive as ****.
Well that all sounds very unencouraging. What about the usual suspects: Alpine, Pioneer, Sony, Kenwood, etc? I'm not all that interested in GPS/Phone, I'm after a solid radio/mp3/bluetooth streamer, with a decent screen that can scroll through a large library quickly.
Any tips?
