Sydney Installs now available, Cheers Sandy.
I believe that the DNS-810 will fit in 2008 (aug-2008 ), Golf TDI Pacific and will have all functionality.

To buy a unit to Spain, can I buy it here or it's better if I contact Audiosources directly?

Sure does. This was a later addition to the ANS series unit but will be carried over to the DNS.
That's up to you, Audiosources is now only selling direct to retail in areas without a distributor and I'm not sure how much they'll budge from the retail $800 in these cases. Support direct from them is also a bit hit or miss. Your best option is to convince someone in Spain to become a distributor

Why is the price $700 when the ANS-810 was $550, and the ANS-510 was $540, shipped within Australia?
I'm not being rude but I had planned on less than $700.
I'm just a poor storeman lol
Bummer. Oh wells, it shouldn't be *that* far off centre I suppose.
Oh also, are there any decent wireless options for camera transmission? I really don't particularly feel like wiring the thing all the way up to the front, sounds like a massive pain! :\
Fair enough re the sizes, I think it's a tossup 7inch vs 8inch. Will have to get the tape measure out and have a play :p 8 inch sure is compelling since it's the same price, but the 7inch will aesthetically be near identical to the OEM unit. Hrm.
If anyones got any side by side/comparison photos of the two that'd be awesome
Read the original/first post, he explains it. DNS is being marketed as the advanced version, where as the ANS is still being sold along side as the entry level unit. Plus the DNS has more expensive/faster internals (the vast majority of the chinese units are identical in hardware, 500mhz/600mhz sirf cpus with resistive touch screens, since they make so many of them the hardware itself is cheap... the DNS is a whole other level, A9 CPU, capacitive touchscreen etc etc)
I understand mate but the DNS has one of the best hardware specs for double din head units out there and the software integration is a whole other level, there's nothing else out there right now that can do the same. From the beginning the DNS was meant to be the ultimate solution for Audiosources to pretty much throw everything at, whereas those after a cheaper alternative still has the older ANS series. Remember the ANS is still ahead of the majority of the competition, though it has a couple of quirks to get used to. Again, the DNS is the next step up from, and not a replacement of, the ANS series.
You would probably be OK with the more expensive ones, but the ~$50 kits are generally rubbish. Always going to be a bit of a gamble with wireless cameras. It's not as hard as you think to get the cable up to the front really, most of it can be tucked under the trim on the side where the plastic meets the carpet, I pre-routed my wires in the Golf 5 and didn't physically remove any trim in the body.

I know right haha, gonna have to crack out the tape measure and try and visualise it :p
Fair enough. It's more my apprehension with pulling the trim off (and things never fitting back how they should), as well as unnecessarily punching things through firewalls and what not :\ For $35 though I figured I may as well just get it and then work out if its going to be too much effort or not haha :p
July 17 the date you want a firm order/money by? Still trying to work out what size lol. Otherwise can't wait, the cheapy chinese one i've got now is causing battery drain issues :\
