Good to hear from you Sandy. I, for one, am confident that everything is getting back on track and that you can allay the concerns of some of the people on here

Welcome back Sandy, hope you had an awesome trip!

I can imagine catching up on ~30 pages of posts was fun haha, especially the first few where everyone was confused about what was going on.

Keen to try out the new firmware what's the firmware update process?

My car has auxin but not USB, so I'll be keen to grab a USB cable on the next shipment. Will send A pm in a few days.

Found another issue that I'll add to the spreadsheet, SD playback doesn't like resuming when you shut the car down, fun. :p

Good to see we're getting somewhere, I'm loving the unit thus far, only minor issues for me, so all good.

Sandy, just a quick question about warranty, for certainty/ my own peace of mind, I got a copy of my invoice with my unit, but to be sure, warranty begins from the day the unit was shipped, correct? so the 23rd of NOV, not back in June when i made payment.

    Hey guys.

I need to go back through to find that google spreadsheet but I've found a few more bugs.

-The button on the steering wheel that used to pause music or in radio mute it, only mutes now while the music still plays in the background on SD
-When muted put car in reverse, as soon as you take it out of reverse it automatically unmutes.
-The audio seemed to dull down as soon as GPS turned on.
-I found a song from the SD card was going fragmented (like they do on really slow computers) after having the GPS on for about ten minutes. When I pushed the GPS button again to return to the SD view the fragmenting audio went away.
-And the last thing, I hooked up my sub through the sub out and those amplified bass issues others have mentioned (which I didnt really notice when it was wired into my canbus) were pretty full on. With my amp on its lowest settings and the bass and sub down on the head unit its still quite bassy. A friend of mine suggested I turn on the 'loud' setting to raise the highs and then turn the volume down in general, seems to have helped a bit.

Oh hey Sandy, do you happen yo know how big those tv antennas are? If they're small enough to fit behind the unit I'm going to leave the fascia plate off to easily get behind it. Get the feeling I'll do more harm than good the more I remove that thing.

    .
mine never paused music, even on cd, or playing mp3s off a cd, always muted.

Pretty sure the audio dulling down when GPS is on is normal, I believe, with most GPS units. I always switch all voices and notifications off on GPS, so did that straight up, hate all the interruptions to the music, haha

I have done some preliminary edits on the spreadsheet - for one I think we need to separate bugs and features, so I have added a missing features sheet within the document, but I've left the original sheet as it was. I still need to compare the sheet properly with my own notes that I've made over time. I also have not been able to answer everyone's messages / emails yet so I will continue that tomorrow.

For now the updated firmware can be found here:

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...S_20131129.zip

To flash the firmware you need a blank micro SD card. Start by extracting ONLY the file named "UPD" to the blank card (ensuring this is the first file copied onto the SD card). Then you can extract the rest into the same directory. Make sure all files are in the root directory, and that there are no folders.

Make sure your unit is off. Insert the SD card into the GPS slot, then turn on the ignition and wait for the unit to turn on (or turn it on if it wasn't on before you pulled your keys out last time). Someone mentioned their unit was having trouble turning on - in that case unplug the radio fuse for a few seconds to fully reset the unit, then check that your unit can turn on, then do as above.

If you did everything right you will see a screen with colourful text appearing. Wait a minute or two and it will proceed to a white screen with text in the middle saying something about "updating MPU". In another minute this will turn to "MPU update success, please reboot". The unit will boot itself in a few seconds if you don't do anything. Regardless, just turn off the unit (don't start it yet) after you see that message.

Now, pull out the firmware SD from the GPS slot before starting the unit again. If you don't, it's not the end of the world, but the firmware flash process with the colourful text will start again from the beginning, and you have to wait for the full cycle to finish. If you start the unit without the firmware SD in the GPS slot, the unit will boot manually.

After the unit is fully booted into the radio interface, insert the firmware SD again, and it will ask you if you want to update the MCU. Choose yes and the unit will begin updating. In a minute or two the update will be complete and the unit simply shuts itself down. At that point the update process is complete, simply take the update SD out.

    Czesc ogurek.

Maybe its an mk6 thing? I actually found when I got the car that I preferred it as pause instead of mute, personal preference perhaps.

I went out and played with the GPS some more, think I have the volume thing worked out. Quite a few settings to go through!
