i'd be interested in a short shifter for my Skoda Octavia 1.8TSI.

You'll probably need a photo because I tried to fit an OEM short shift thingy off an R32 Gold & the Skoda gearbox appears to be "back to front".

I was thinking of getting the 42DD bushes for my 8L A3 (pretty much a Mk4 Golf GTI in the engine bay). Would the 42DD bushes work with the DieselGeek short shifter kits, or is it not necessary? Put my name down for a DG SS kit for a 5-speed Mk4 GTI anyhow!

Yes the 42DD bushes work with the DG MK4 short shift, for if you look at the website or the pics I posted in the sponsor section, the DG MK4 still uses the stock rubber ends. Heck, it's Friday arvo, I'll spoil ya....here you go:

The MKV/VI kit replaces everything, so no need for 42DD bushes. If anyone with a MKV/VI with 42DD bushes wants to upgrade, talk to me, I'll work something out, don't want anyone left with useless bits....

all other questions passed onto dieselgeeks for an answer, still learning the unusual fitments myself!

Josh not sure it fits the polo, but again awaiting confirmation. Might have to go with Allards there.

    Thanks for the info Greg!

I had another quick look at the site and it looks like they have the Sigma 5-speed for the Mk4:

I'm assuming these don't require the upgrade to the 42DD bushes?

I'll have to double-check if the Sigma 5 is indeed for my 2001 A3 1.8T but I'm 90% it is.

I'd be keen on some 42DD stuff anyway and will speak to you about it all soon.
