    FS: Interior mirror with anti-dazzle P/N 3B0 857 511 JY20

    Hi everyone!

    I'm new here. Own a 2002 Bora V6 4-Motion.

I purchased a brand new interior mirror for it and it arrived yesterday. Silly me got the wrong part number though and VW will not take it back or swap it for the correct one. So I thought I'd advertise it here.

The mirror I'm selling apparently fits 1999 to 2001 Bora's with the auto-dimming or anti-dazzle feature on it for cars with rain sensing wipers. I think it may suit some Skodas Audi's and Seats too. The part number is 3B0 857 511 JY20. Brand new, never plugged in or connected to a car, still in the original VW box. Will ship anywhere.

    Anybody interested?
    Daniel.

Hi guys. I'm not sure about what the differences are. They share a common attachment and plug, but I've noticed that one used all six pins while the other only four. What confuses the matter is that both mirrors have been superceded. For example, they might have different number of sensor holes on the side facing the driver and this new one has a button underneath it and two red LED's.

What really matters is the part number. Slip the light-weight cover off that connects the mirror to the window - it parts down the middle into a left and right part. Disconnect the plug and slide the bracket down the face of the glass to separate it from the base (which is mounted on the window). Now you should be able to see a white sticker with a part number on it. Thats the part you'll need.

sci_fianime: I've no idea which part you need, but it is likely this part as I'm told it is common to several models in the Audi, VW, Seat and Scoda ranges. you should check the part number on your mirror, like I said above.

The colour of the mirror I'm selling is called "pearl grey". Don't let that fool you though, to my eye its a very light grey colour and could pass for off-white.

My local VW dealer charges $435 for this part. I'd like to sell this one asap so I can get the right part for my car. I'd take $250 right now. If no one shows any interest, I'm tempted to try it in my car
