You can always pay to have the license transfered to new owner to get full support from rosstech. It's $99US I think from memory.

kamold, while that is correct, these cables have never been registered, so they should not be on Ross-Tech's books.

Sorry hadn't read the whole post. Can't comment on how they handle this situation, only second hand cables.

arcadelt; on behalf of a forum buddy, I asked Ross-Tech about their registration policy in your situation. OP has decided not to pursue the purchase of a cable, but here is the response that I received from Uwe Ross:

Technically, only the first/original end-user is eligible to register at no cost. But in reality, if the original owner never registered it, chances are good that we wouldn't know that the new owner got it second-hand.

Thanks Don, that's pretty much the same answer I got from him the other day, less the "chances are good that we wouldn't know that the new owner got it second-hand" bit. I assumed that could possibly be the case, hence I made mention of it in the listing. Obviously you are better connected or just nicer than me, hence he let a little more slip. Thanks for the extra info!
