I have a 2001 gti, which I think is actually a 2002 model (it was a demo car)... would it be difficult to get this working? If its not I would be keen!!

As previously stated, it all depends what immo your car has. I just noticed your in Melbourne. Do you know anyone with vagcom? Your local mechanic perhaps? Or someone from the forums?
