Australian and New Zealand deliveries are expected to be around April 2017, I've been told there will be a few demo cars in March by my local dealer. Kiwi cars are expected to be in the 60k area and the 7 seat option an NCO (great for small families that just want a big boot!) from what Skoda NZ told me. I'll update as more info comes.

Not sure I think your link may be broken, however specs/pricing have been released this week.
There's another article here: 2017 Skoda Kodiaq pricing and specs: Seven-seat SUV detailed for May launch
Interesting to note that adaptive cruise and LED headlights are standard and not bundled into an options package/higher priced model.
I think this should attract a number of potential Tiguan owners by the extra row of seats, better specs and sharp pricing.

2017 Tiguan Sportline - Tigger73's 162TSI Sportline
2016 Scirocco R, stage 1, 205kwaw (sold) - Tigger73's Scirocco R Build
2013 Tiguan 155TSI, stage 1, 144kwaw (sold) - Tigger73's 155TSI Build
2011 Tiguan 125TSI, Stage 2+, 152kwaw (sold) - Tigger73's 125TSI Build
The Tiguan 132TSI Comfortline (no options) is priced the same as the Kodiaq 132 TSI (no options).
And isnt it the point that the Kodiaq is cheaper?

It is horses for courses and Skoda traditionally spec their cars at a higher level as that is their way to catch customers. The Superb killed the Passat in what it offered but the resale of the Superb was lower. I sold a Superb to buy a 162 Tiguan and could have waited for the Kodiaq but the new Skoda did not fit my buying needs. I did not need the 7 seats or the larger body that went with it, I wanted the 162 motor and I reckon the resale will be better for the Tiguan. Skoda have not got the market presence in this country which is a crying shame as they deserve better and their sales in Europe prove that. The car I would really like tobuy is not made, a Yeti with all the bells and whistles complete with GTI motor, it would be my ideal car at the moment.
I missed this here, as kept seeing updates in the facebook groups. Keep in mind the Kodiaq is more geared towards the Toureg, so it makes this price very very good. The new Yeti, or rather what looks to replace it the Koroq I would suspect will be a bargain as well when it comes later this year.
Oh I didn't notice that. I assumed it would be similar to my Santa Fe which is 150kg. That's hardly any better than the Octavia. Having said that I haven't towed anything with my SF and never actually got a towbar fitted but may well do to carry bikes yet. I wonder whether its the chassis of the springs that cause such a low weight.
