    Wife trashes wheel

OMFG as they say. My phone camera is a bit cactus, so the picture doesn't convey the full horror of what my better half has done to my four-month-old Wolfsburg rim...

Apparently she thought it was the back wheel that was hitting the curb, so she went backwards and forwards on full lock a few times to try and get it off. arrrrrgggghhhh.

Have you filed for divorce yet?

    Look into getting it repaired.
I buggered up my rear passenger side on a curb I completely misjudged, had a mobile wheel repairer fix it in 40 mins for $140.

Check out these guys at Coastal Alloy Rim Repair | Remove Ugly Scratches - From $99 they did two of my 20" Suzuka wheel from a pothole. They were really bad and thought I had to get new wheels from VW but at the cost $1500 each, no thanks!!! Anyway Coastal Alloy came out within 2 days, price was $220 as one wheel was really bad and all done within 90 minutes. These guys did a fantastic job and honestly I can not tell where the gutter rash was unless you inspect it really close to spot the machine rings from the manufacturer.
    Would highly recommend them.

Drop in and see these guys:

    Wheel Solutions Australia

They fixed our 21 inch SQ5 rim after a similar experience, their work was spot on (our wheel was clear coated not painted)

The good thing about painted rims vs. the machine finish is they are much simpler to repair and a lot less expensive.

On this one though I'd think you're looking at a complete respray.

I actually spent an hour or so cleaning it up with a ‘Turtle’ polish for removing scratch marks and then using one of their ‘Black’ coloured polish over the top.
It ended up looking a *lot* better than in that photo. Hardly visible from a distance (except the bits she got all the way to through the paint - and there were a few of them...).
Still not ideal up close. But I can probably live with it.
