Noticed my Tiguan doesn't have a full cover under the engine and transmission. One I looked at did so not sure if mine is missing or different models have them fitted. Can anyone shed any light on this.

Can anyone with a R Line have a look to see if their car has a plastic splash guard under engine and transmission. Have been told the R Line may not because engine mounts are designed to shear off and engine drops in the event of a front end collision. Anyone heard of this?

Only the diesels have a full cover.
The petrol ones have a half-cover.
Nothing to do with the engine coming out on impact, all modern cars are capable of this now.

Only going on what VW dealership has told me, didn't know if it was true or not, I don't think a piece of plastic would stop the engine from dropping down. I have seen several petrol Tigs with the full covers though.Originally Posted by Umai Naa!!
