Tyre sealants safe to use with TPMS?

Just wondering if anyone uses tyre slime/sealants and if these have interfered with TPMS.
What brands have you used and how well has it worked?
I'm going to get a full sized spare tyre but would also like to know I have a plan C & D should I have another puncture before having the chance to replace the punctured tyre.

Does the Tig' use monitors for the pressure monitoring or does it rely on feedback from the wheel sensors to identify a wheel turning differently in relation to the others and stored data?

Hi I have last week received Tiguan 132TSI Comfortline, and I discovered that pressure monitoring in this car is basically computer software by speed sensor controlled ,( rotating faster or slower tyre) so it is Passive not Active .What I want to know from other owners is our Au Tiguan 2 already has built in ''TPMS Hardware module'' so If purchase set of 4x TPS tyre sensors VW 433Mhz from my research and just do coding in VCDS to adapt new sensors and than will have real Active Tyre monitoring included pressure and temperature reading for each Tyre. Can please anyone confirm that 132TSI Comfortline or 162Highline have already Factory built in TPMS Hardware modul in car or this TPMS Hardware module need to be purchased separately and installed ?Thx

I have a Highline with 18 inch Continental 'ContisportContact 5' tyres which have a product called 'Contiseal' inside. I had no idea about this until I had a puncture, and it is not mentioned in any of the VW literature that I could find.

    ContiSeal™

I recently hit a piece of wood on a dark road and picked up 2 screws in a front tyre. The TPMS system picked it up pretty quickly and I had to change to the spare. When I took the tyre to the tyre shop it appears that the seal had worked with one of the two holes, but the larger one still had the screw in it so it was bleeding air quite fast. The problem is, according to the tyre shop, that the sticky goo on the inside of the carcass can't be cleaned up sufficiently for a plug to stick to seal the hole if the proprietary sealer doesn't work.

$240 for a new tyre thank you very much!

I don't know if all Tigs have tyres with the same technology, but tyres with it have a small 'ContiSeal' logo just near the rim at the point where the '...Contact 5' appears on the sidewall.

    Hope this helps.
