had a MKV jetta years ago from new. 147TSI. Got an APR ECU tune done within a few months. I never took the car to VW for servicing, took it to an independant VW/Audi specialist. Only time it went to VW was for warranty work. It had the 6DSG gearbox. This was replaced under warranty after about 2 years. I never swapped the tuning back to factory settings when it went to VW and they never said anything about the tune done to it during the replacement of the mechatronics unit or the complete gearbox. Had a mechanic give me the "thumbs up" regarding the tune tho... lol.
Things may be different now - moved away from VW in the last few years so have no latest experiences with dealerships etc.

I know the obd11 stuff doesn't work but does anyone know if they have changed or added further protection against tuning? I know it hasn't been long but are there any 2020 delivered cars around here that have APR or custom tunes on them?

The only way you're going to know for 100% sure on your car is to take it to a tuner and get them to read the files off it. Most likely if they can get a read off it then they'll be able to write it also.

Usually they'll do it for nothing as they're going to need to do it anyway when you're going to tune it.

The other thing I would be taking a serious look at is anyone looking to go stage 2 as APR has pulled all their stage 2 files. It appears that the EPA in the US is going after anyone selling hardware/software that replaces factory emissions equipment. APR in the UK has also confirmed that they are not supplying so I think this may be a worldwide issue.

I live near Coffs Harbour and sadly the QLD border is closed due to Covid so I can't get to Eurotune on the Goldy. Any other APR dealers in Northern NSW or not as far as Sydney?

I'd like to get the APR Stage II done before its pulled!

Is stage 2 offered for our tig's yet? I know it was under development, but unsure of if they bothered to finish R&D considering the latest news.

Mate of mine in near Bondi just joined the VAG family.
Any recommended tuners in the Eastern Suburbs?Not sure if he'll go APR/Revo or a custom tuner, but looking for any recommendations
