    Traffic Sign Recognition???

Hi, So I bought an OBD11 an appropriate android device, I have successfully disabled stop/start and have enabled TMC traffic.... Thought I'd have a crack at Traffic sign recognition, so I thought Id use the app and some credits and get it done automatically... OBD11 says my car not supported (hell Ive got ALL the bloody cameras!!!), same for High beam assist? Ive got a top spec R-Line...WTF? not supported??

Ok so Ill try and follow the coding instructions for Traffic sign recognition as listed on the autoinstruct website for MK 7 but the adaptations menu doesnt match what im seeing... Could some please point me in the right direction for this tweak, or even better please list the steps for me. I am a techno gumby, but am trying to learn, all help and advice greatly appreciated.

    cheers

The reason it is saying your car is not supported is because this model Tiguan is so new the apps One Button programs don't support it yet, this is why I would strongly suggest avoid using those and manually code any changes instead.
Also, while the MK7 Golf and the MK2 Tiguan are both based on the same MQB platform they have different control modules so not all tweaks and instructions for the MK7 will work on our cars.

You can find pretty much all the details for the current tweaks for Tig on this post here: Mk2 Tiguan VCDS Tweaks

I also have a document I am putting together with all the changes I have made including the Traffic Sign Recognition which you can access here: Sign in to your account

Thank you for you educated response, I value your input as I have been following your posts. I did download a copy of your PDF, thank you. The instructions were very easy to follow and I managed to input all the coding for Traffic Sign Recognition up until the Heads Up Display input, which of course I cant do in an Aussie car.... Im hoping it doesnt matter and wont affect the rest of the programming? What evidence will I have that this actually worked? I mean I did have speed signs already on the map but there weren't dynamic, just static inputs from the navigation program.... I appreciate all your help ... thank you!!!

    Traffic Signs in AID

    Hi all

I’ve noticed numerous posts about enabling dynamic traffic sign recognition - but all I really want is to be able to see traffic signs on the Active Info Display.

I have the Discover Pro with Sat Nav - which displays road signs that are stored in its database - but I generally have the Discover Pro on something other than Navigation.

Is there any way to get the speed limit displayed on the AID (“Virtual Cockpit” in Audi terminology)? Or does this require that you enable Dynamic Road Sign Recognition?

    Thanks!

I got the signs in AID after activating TSR.

The navigation data won't go to other places in my opinion.

Yes, ignore the HUD part since you don't that that.

If it is working you should get the speed signs showing in you AID area, either allow the top row or in the main middle area if you have set it to display there. You should also get a warning about 30 seconds after you start the car to say this function is restricted (I think that is the wording).

You should also be able to adjust the settings for this (warning if you go over the speed etc) in the Car Settings menu on the Infotainment (same place you can change all the driver aid settings and lights etc).

As far as I am aware the only way to get the speed signs showing on the AID (or HUD if you have that) is by enabling Traffic Sign Recognition.

Thanks both - suspected this was the case (doesn’t seem to be much integration between the two systems) but it’s a shame.

Personally, I’d find it really useful on the odd occasion where you suspect the speed limit has changed without your noticing to be able to glance at the AID rather than switch the Discover Pro to Nav)

It's a shame VW are so **** at customer service because this is an excellent idea.

Unfortunately I don't have any evidence in my AID nor my settings menu to indicate it was successful. I double checked my coding and all seems correct.. I didn't do that line in yellow as you said it wasn't needed, also when doing theses tweaks do they need to be completed in order as listed?... cheers Gary
