ACC kept me away from double demerits and TJA kept me sane and the stiffness in my right ankle at bay in the queues.
If you don’t have it, I highly recommend you get it activated if your Tiguan is compatible.
That's not TJA it's only ACC. TJA only steers the car at low speeds to try to keep you in your lane.

You are wrong, if the vehicle was being driven at speeds lower than 68KPH then TJA was operational providing that DLA was active.

TJA is operational only at speeds under 68KPH and does the following,

Self steers the car in 13 second blocks

Maintains lane position of the car

    Maintains spacing from adjacent vehicles

Controls the vehicle speed in relation to the vehicle being followed

    Controls all braking

Vehicle will resume forward motion if it is stopped for under 3 seconds without driver input, for a longer stop the resume button or accelerator is pressed can be pressed or the steering wheel moved slightly.

For TJA to work Dynamic Lane Assist must be activated, this is the kicker because the first generation of the Tiguan in Australia did not have DLA activated.

In effect all TJA does is add self steering under 68KPH to ACC WHEN the vehicle has the DLA assistance coded and operational. TJA cannot be turned off, there is no switch and the only way it can be disabled is by disabling DLA. The only indication of its operation is on the dasboard, the two green lines indicating DLA is active stay green under 68KPH.

I saw your 5 bullet points and stopped reading. 3 to 5 are ACC regardless of your speed not TJA. I have two cars one with TJA and one without so I know what it does.

Yeah, nah. It was definitely TJA. I wasn’t clear in that post but there were stop-start queues.
So, cruising at 100kph and then hit the tail of the queue. The car slowed right down to a near stop, and then continued to follow the queue at 10-20kph, steering and maintaining a consistent distance from the car in front. If the queue stopped, I would have to hit resume after 3sec, otherwise the car would just move off again by itself. Automatic Stop/Start was switched off to keep AC running nice and cool.
I was literally able to take my right foot and put it flat on the floor in a comfortable position and just keep one finger on the wheel and one eye on the car in front.

I have found that slow moving traffic is actually the ideal situation especially if it is on long journey. To put it another way for sharp TJA is a combination of assist systems but I am sure he will explain that when he responds.

I had TJA added to my car aftermarket (ODIS coding AFAIK not VCDS) and this is exactly how TJA operates, one thing I noticed once my cars modules were updated to have TJA function, the level of self-steer above 68KPH is MUCH greater, it can steer itself around far sharper bends than beforehand.

Probably a software update of the front camera to index H.

Also enabling Adaptive Lane Guidance by setting intervention moment to early I think makes a difference.
