Did @MikeyT ever hear back from the dealership?
That is not the case at all, it can be turned on in cars with the DAP AND that had TJA activated at the factory. Saying it can be "turned on in cars with DAP" is misleading and wrong because there are a lot of cars out there prior to the time it was factory activated that do not have TJA activated from the factory. Mine was one such car BTW, manufactured in 2016. In fact to be very pedantic it can't be turned on or off as such, there is no independent switch to do so. This last point has led to people questioning if they have it at all because TJA has only one indicator of it working and that is easily missed. The first time I drove a car with it I came away unconvinced it was working but I subsequently found out that it had been but the conditions I was driving in meant it was switching in and out due to the road markings.

Having just travelled the Great Western Highway from Sydney to Bathurst and back in Easter traffic, I can honestly say ACC and TJA are a godsend. What a neat piece of tech to take the stress out of a long weekend road trip. I never really saw the value in it until now.
ACC kept me away from double demerits and TJA kept me sane and the stiffness in my right ankle at bay in the queues.
If you don’t have it, I highly recommend you get it activated if your Tiguan is compatible.
Hello everyone
after reaDing Many forums i Still dont know If traffic jam assist is posible to configúrate in manual transmisión car. Or If the lane assist can lower the activación speed below 65km/h?
thanks
Not sure about manual but I can assure you Traffic assist works beautifully. I use it regularly in heavy Melbourne traffic below 30kmph and both lane assist works and ACC stops/starts car when car in front moves. This makes city driving a less stressful experience. The only issue I have with the system is that it doesn’t recognise Keep Clear areas, as it can’t detect then.

I just tested mine, it is probably less than 3 seconds, especially because the engine stops quicker and when the engine stops, the ACC will need you to step on the accelerator to restart.
Otherwise TJA (I didnt know it's called this until today) is available in my 2017 by default and it works together with Lane Assist on lower speeds too (30-40 kmph)
