Hopefully will be Picking up my DEC 2016 build Tiguan (with Driver Assist) next week. Most likely will not have TJA option enabled as VW Customer Care have confirmed that it is not available in Australia, however some Lucky customers do have it enabled from the factory I have heard. Is there anyone in Adelaide who might be able to offer their services to enable this feature?

It won't have TJA, or ALG (Active Lane Guidance) enabled. Of the two ALG is the more advantageous to have and all TJA does is extend the use of ALG under about 67KPH down to zero. Read this thread fully especially the latter parts of it as the understanding of what TJA did changed and we found out that it was not fully autonomous driving in stop start traffic and the VW / SKODA videos are misleading to say the least. I certainly would not cry tears of blood if I had not been able to have it activated to tell the truth but I would definitely be upset if ALG went away.

Ozsko After reading through all the posts I understood that ALG and also TJA was successfully activated on the MY17 Tiguan by some members. Apparently, there are some other VW models that do have these features active. Will have to wait till I get the car next week and check what I have.

I have the same production date car so it won't be any different to mine and I have had both enabled. ALG is easily enabled by VCDS, TJA cannot be enabled by VCDS AFAIK .

Get the car and enjoy it first then worry about the other stuff later, it is all easily done and no problems at all.

dragging up an old thread I came across this ad.
Traffic Jam Assist activation service - Sydney

Looks like it can be activated if you have $150 to spare. i also noticed that the new Sportline has TJA.
What's even more annoying is that the specs brochure from September says ALG and TJA come with the Driver Assistance Package which they definitely did not.

Thanks for bumping - I'd forgotten about this. Still a Canuck here looking to add this to my Q5 that has all the software (ie. has lane keep assist, ACC, blind spot warning, etc - just no TJA). Any suggestions from my Commonwealth friends?

I drove a dealer demo and I think it was before September, it had TJA but my understanding of it was poor at the time and the dealer also did not know. On reflection it definitely had TJA but a lot of us thought and some still do that it has to be switched on and that is not the case. If ALG is activated then TJA is on by default and there is no way TJA can be turned off if ALG is turned on. If you read the entire thread I posted when I drove the car so that will date it for you.

I suggest you read the linked activation thread and contact the OP, he will set you on the right path for sure.
