I wouldn't hold my breath. VW doesn't activate some features for marketing purposes and, unless you have good connections, local dealers won't override those decisions. If they activate them concurrently and the word gets out imagine how people rush to service centres to get those not originally activated features activated. That's not what VW wants and that's not what service centres want.

I think you have misunderstood. (correct me if I'm wrong).
DAP is Driver Assist Package that you can add to your car depending on model etc. This (DAP) comprises of a number of features, HOWEVER in Australia SOME features are Excluded from this package. IT IS ONLY these features (such as Traffic Jam Assist) that we are discussing here regarding turning them on off whatever. You need to have this package first, then you need to see what is enabled/dissabled from this package on your vehicle. Hope this clarifies.

Nothing is free and software upgrades for new cars within warranty period is going to be impossible to charge for in Australia.
The Germans are clever, If they have released TJA active Tiguans in Australia then they might inform us to enable this feature on previous (compatible) models we would require a FREE software upgrade However we would need to pay for a new sensor, radar or camera that the new software is dependant on. Something along these lines is what I would assume.
