    I mean this activation is not working.

    I tried it and no lane assist under 60km/h or from 0 km/h.
    Is TJA always active when enabled? My understanding from all the videos on YouTube is that it kicks in when certain conditions are met, e.g street type, traffic conditions, etc..

    Can someone with TJA enabled clarify this?

    its part of ALG, if that's selected in the menu then it's turned on, ALG works independant from ACC over 60k, when below 60 ALG only works with ACC enabled and lanes detected,
    if you put on the ACC say at 40k then ALG will keep the car in the lane even without a car in front (unless there's a sharpish bend or the car cannot detect the lane)
    if you put the ACC on at 0k with a car in front it will keep the speed of the car in front up to 30k (if you set the ACC at 0k it sets the speed at 30k as default, if you change it higher and it will follow to the speed the ACC is set to) and keep the lane (again unless there's a sharpish bend or it can't detect the lane)
    it will only work for the 12 seconds (unless you stop and start off again as long as the stop is for less than 3 seconds) then give you the take over steering warning,

    Adding to this fine summary;
    It will not ask you to take over steering if you are below 60km and lanes are detected. I ran for about 10min in a queue on the M5 on the weekend without any warnings. I had a good chance to test it... had ACC set to 100km and ALG active. >60km, 12 second timeout was asking me to take over the steering. When I hit the tail of the queue, it braked automatically and TJA kicked in, bringing me to a complete stop when required and moving on again. If the stop was longer that 3sec, it would put ACC on standby, and as soon as I see the cars ahead moving, I hit resume and TJA takes over.
    I hope that helps. It’s a shame that VW don’t show a special icon to signify TJA is active... the only clues are green ACC and green Lane Assist icons must both be lit, while under 60kph.
    BTW mine is MY18... TJA enables in the factory.

    If you have TJA enabled, your lane assist will be starting from 0km/h

    Thanks! I don’t mean to rub anybody’s nose in it 😂
    Happy for someone in Sydney to drop by and scan the settings if that’s helpful, but I think the AU MY18 scans may already be on this thread.

    pretty sure the other day at 30mph (what's that 40k?) it asked me to take over steering (was on a clear 30mph road so maybe doesn't with cars in front))

    Hi all, I bought a MY18 2.0 petrol highline from Giltrap here in Auckland. I have emailed them linking them to hugo_nz's experience. Silence from them so far. Hugo, was it hard for you to persuade Continental? PS don't have OBDeleven but happy if someone else in Auckland wants to scan before/after if I have any luck?

    Yep, I fiddled with it quite a bit. 60kph is the magic number. At least for the AU implementation... perhaps it varies from country to country according to the prevailing speed limits on urban roads?
    What I did notice is in urban areas, and single lane roads, the markings are not as clearly delineated in Sydney and it freaks out and asks me to take over... intersections and turning lanes in particular.
