All VW's have the same issue. It's not just the new Tiguan that has wipers hitting the bonnet when you lift them.
I know there is a service procedure to change wiper blades etc but is anyone concerned about a over eager parking inspector or pamphlet pusher lifting wiper arm and taking a big chunk of paint off the bonnet.

It's more a feature than an issue. The blades are recessed to reduce wind noise and increase aerodynamic efficiency (slightly).

Don't get a parking fine will sort that issue out.
Just hit the wiper blade arm everytime you park andturn the ignition off to set them to service mode if you are really concerned
The point about the blade is they'll flex enough for something to be put under them without the arm even moving!
I see your point, if its someone that either cares or is aware of the problem but that is not always the case. The dealership I raised the issue with told me that several clients vechiles had chips of paint off the bonnet from someone lifting the wiper arm. Just trying to make people aware what could happen.
