I think you will find one is a rear fog light but ive seen others change it over to two reversing lights

Unfortunately yes. The drivers side is a rear fog light, however if you have access to an OBD11 or VCDS you can program this light to turn on when you select reverse gear. Cheers

Hi Voltch, if you get the light reprogrammed, is there white on that side, or is it red only?

There are posts on here where people have removed the Red Lense ,but involves pulling the reverse light apart

I found the reversing lights completely unacceptable and so i bought a cheap LED flood light and fitted it under the rear bumper. I had it wired to the existing reversing light by a professional auto electrician and now I can see behind me in the dark. A reasonably handy electrical DIY should be able to do it too, but that's not me.

A word of warning though. The rear parking sensors, and hence the auto park system, work on a very low voltage so be careful to route the wireing from the new light well away from the sensor wiring. If it is too close, or like mine cable tied to the sensor wires, it can disable the sensors and the stuff using it. It took me a while to figure that out but now it works perfectly and all for about $35.00

Wire don't you just wire the fog light to also come on with the reverse lights. It's more than bright enough and no bolt on lights to spoil the look of the car.

In fact that sounds like such a good idea I might do that myself.
