Has anyone seen or installed the original VW sub woofer, which goes into the spot of the spare wheel? Or is it comes as part of the Dynaudio system?

    (working from home today)

Decided to measure up the spare wheel and worked out a Pioneer TS-WX610A (TS-WX610A - Car Subwoofers | Pioneer) would fit nicely into the boot if you have the floor board set to be flush (not a step down, also found out could do that - mind blown).

Looked at different ways of wiring it up and decided that when I do wire it up, I won't pierce through the firewall and damage any grommets but instead use those fuse piggy back things and scab power from the 20A cigarette lighter fuse (which won't get used in the car anyhow). Given that the sub only puts out a theoretic max of 200W RMS we can safely say the current draw won't even exceed 14.5A (200 = 13.8*I) at full noise (which it won't ever be used at).

Neat! Be sure to take some pics while you install. I suspect that’s a ‘magic pill’ solution for a lot of us - should be a fairly easy DIY... I hope.

    Sure will

Most likely taking proper photos and writing a proper guide for my blog/online shop www.trak-life.com (currently all JDM schizzle, could do with fancy Euro stuff haha)

You inspired me, bought one and it arrived today, super quick delivery from Malaysia. Can confirm it fits just fine with the floor flush.

Was thinking of fitting one of these as well to complement it.

^ that would be a nice setup, but means you would need to run a proper power cable haha..

In other news, there's a 20% off sale on certain eBay stores - because I don't want to chop up the harness on my Tiguan I'm going to order this:
    Aerpro Volkswagen Golf Mk7 2013 On T Harness 5055193348106 | eBay

Sale starts at 10AM, use code PERFORM20

Pretty much this harness is designed for people adding on additional stuff to their car (fingers crossed it works on the Infotainment). Based on frostywinter's install (Golf R MK7.5) he used the following diagram to tap into the speakers via plug N

Slowly have been acquiring the parts, just need the WX610A now - waiting for an eBay sitewide sale!

Cheers for the heads up, just got one.

I got the sub $40 off, was $360 delivered. Some code popped up in Ebay that I used last week.

Saw your post on FB, just wondering where you ran the power cabling from the battery to the cabin? I'm not entirely keen on punching a hole through the firewall OR piercing the OEM grommet and wondering if there's a +VE bus somewhere in the car?

I remember in older Audis there was a +VE bus bar inside the foot well.

Won't be needing massive current, as I'm planning to just run a basic Clarion XC2110 (marine amp, small foot print).
Sorry, only just saw this! Haven't visited here for a while.

I used spare fuse openings in the passenger footwell fuse box for my power feeds. Ground I used was the existing one under the passenger side door sill. Trigger for power is the CAN High on the quadlock plug (from memory).

I also used a another quadlock plug set inline as you've highlighted in later posts, and soldered in my speaker wires and power/ground as required.

Some pics if it helps, ignore my awesome wiring! Haha That was just plugging it all in to see it worked before routing all the cables and finishing it up. Access behind the headunit is tight, I hid the extra/piggyback quadlock above the headunit and used a piece of flexible plastic pipe (from a cat wand toy!) to tie the wiring to and thread it down to the fuse box.

Edit: Piggy back fuses. These work with a single blade fuse installed also, so you don't need to piggy back an existing fuse, just plug into a spare hole (suggested locations as per my pic). Found that out while doing my install, and not something I'd seen mentioned anywhere else.

    Awesome, thanks Dan!
Will try use the Can/H as the trigger - hopefully it doesn't affect the CAN Bus network lol

The Pioneer TS-WX610A is all installed, very happy with the result. Nice boost to the stock system, has got some real kick now.

The T-Harness whilst tricky to all fit in did the job nicely, was able to tuck in the extra cable/connectors in the space directly above the head unit. Accessories power came from a fuse just like Dan mentioned. Decided on pulling power from the battery through the firewall via a spare grommet, same location as the one on a Mk7 golf - https://www.autoinstruct.com.au/manufacturer/volkswagen/mk7-golf/running-cables-through-the-firewall/ once I found where it came through in the passenger foot well, was relatively straight forward pulling it through (it ended up sitting behind a big bundle of wires).

There is plenty of room for running the cables under the floor trim, started by removing this in the rear passenger seat and then moving forward to the front of the car. Removing the floor LED light connector was straight forward, was a decent connector/wire not a ribbon as some earlier models.

All in all, was not super difficult, just took quite a while as I really took my time and did a fair bit of research looking at Mk7 Golfs for hints along the way.
