There is a Tiguan in QLD that had a CTS intercooler fitted. I am waiting to hear back on what happened there. The CTS intercooler has enlarged inlets and outlets so I imagine the hoses that came with the kit would have been used.
When it comes to Factory hoses, I was comparing Tiguan part to the Golf R. For example the left hose. Tiguan = 5QF145832 Golf R = 5Q0145832D (Originally 5Q0145832)

I took a look at Tigger73’s Leyo link and they have Tiguan boost/Intercooler hoses, might be able to work with the IE Intercooler:

IT Mechanical got back to me about the CTS Kit they fitted to a Tiguan. They used the CTS Hoses and it was fine, I think I'll risk the IE Intercooler and if it doesn't work I may have to pick up a set of those Leyo ones.

I had a CTS Intercooler on my previous K04 Tig, the CTS hoses had to be twisted and stretched to fit. I didn’t find the cooling performance very effective.

Let us know how you go with the IE Intercooler, sounds very promising.

With the golf r exhaust, were the only welds required for the centre muffler and tip extensions? Did it just use stock Tiguan exhaust hangers?

Sounds like this could have caused a choke point with the twist in the hose.

I'm in the process of getting the Wagner Intercooler which comes with a hose kit specific for the Tiguan. I'm not sure what the size of the connection on the IE Intercooler is so it may not be possible to get hoses from another kit if they have over-size end tank connections.

Nah, just a very tight fit to get piping on the end tanks, not ideal.

I actually found the turbo to be slightly less throttle responsive with the CTS Intercooler. Potentially pressure drop, there are trade offs, a larger IC might be better at reducing IAT but may increase pressure drop and lag....

Yes that's my concern with a larger intercooler is that you have a larger volume to fill so takes more time to build boost. I guess there's a happy medium between having acceptable pressure drop/intake temps and being a more responsive system.

Not sure whether you will have time to do this, but it would be great to get a GTECH/VBOX after each of your major mods. It would be good to understand whether the aftermarket IC improves 0-100 times and what the stock cooler can do on its own. I’m not to fussed about repeatable performance, just interested in the 0-100 measurement for the single traffic light sprint. If there is some increment sprint benefit I’d be interested.

Yeah actually looking to get the 0-100 for the intake actually just out of interest. Butt dyno says there might be a smidge in it but it'll only be smaliish gain in the mid-range and top end if anything.

I was going to get this intake or the CTS, CTS was going to be loud all the time (I'm too old for that ****e), raclingline expensive, just went with a good air filter and snow grate removal instead..
