Just did the basic grate removal from air box, cut open the intakes behind the grille (to let direct fresh air in) and put some heavy duty foam inside to block off the hot air from engine side, so the original ducts flow air into engine bay and the other side now feeds the airbox. Easier than buying the block off plate and still keeps functionality.
Noise increased (as oem car is so quite), part throttle responsiveness is better and feels like it breathes easier through 3000-4500 rpm range.
Still using factory filter so can get another *cough* 5% increase with after market filter if I need more for stage 1 tune in future.
On the TDI there is the MAF sensor on the turbo inlet piping, what have people used when replacing the turbo inlet and turbo inlet hose to be able to hold the little section with the MAF? I can't seem to find anything online available, everything is for non MAF. Cheers
I have found this online from the USA but nothing available local, and shipping from over there is over 100usd so not worth it. This seems to be the shorter hose that will go to the section where the MAF is.

You need to find a diesel specific intake pipe - all the ones you will find are for the petrol engine. I have linked you to what I believe is the part you are looking for on the Darkside Developments page. They are a VW/Audi/Skoda diesel specialist in the UK.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread/post, which Leyo intake was it… was it this one:
LEYO Motorsport | 1.8/2.0T MQB Intake System V2
They say it fits a mk2 tiguan, but on some other online stores like ECS and I think even Autoinstruct they say no…
My Tig is a 2022 R-line (facelift) which I assume is still the mk7 golf gti/Ea888.3 engine which makes me think it should fit….
