So paint protection isn't worth it then?

no disrespect, but you are asking a loaded question. Some love it, some despise it. I’m in the former camp and won’t own another car without it. But for every proponent you’ll find one equally passionate owner who has perfectly good reasons for NOT wanting paint protection. I’d be very surprised if you’ll find agreement on what is ‘best’. If a grand bothers you, don’t get it. That’s honestly the best advice I can give.
    Cheers

    Thanks
Bowden’s, Meguairs, etc. I’d go for one with Carnauba in it.

i am also skeptical of its claimed benefits.

i am thinking just a regular wash, and wax every 3 months will do the job!
Nothing yet as they want the car for 2 days and I use it to drive 100km most days.

There is a product called fireglaze. Out tame detailer uses it at dealerships when a customer orders paint protection.

Pay about $40 online. He charges $250 to wash and apply. One of his dealers (who sells high end Italian sports cars, normally in red) charges $2000. And they complain if he uses too much fireglaze when doing a car!

After treating 6 cars (and a motorcycle) over a number of years I can testify cr@p doesn't stick as easily, and the car comes up great every time you wash it. In conjunction with Meguires (although I believe Autoglym is as good, if not better) the comment whenever I've traded or sold has been the paint is in great condition. My wife swears our cars look better than new.

Thanks for the tips guys. Picked up Bowdens Wheely clean and a few of their products. I'm going to wax the car with Meguairs Ultimate Liquid Wax.

Even though I have had 10+ years of my Ming paint protection on my 2006 Toyota Prado, this time I too have decided to do it myself with the Tiggy - when it arrives! Funny enough, I enjoy using products and have the time to do it.

I am gonna use Meguairs also but the NXT GenerationPolymer Paint Sealant and NXT Generation Wash. Will use the Quick Clay product for maintenance every 6 months, then reapply the NXT Paint Sealant.

For me, pain protection makes the car easier to clean. Depending on what you get, you never need to waste 2-3 hours waxing the car every six months.

Get pain protection. I will never get a new car without it again...

Opticoat. It's meant to be permanent, but top ups every year recommended.
