Interesting, mine was in last week for a infotainment screen replacement and they didn't disconnect the modules.

Pretty sure the new ones are just coming disconnected from the factory.

There’s been some reported issues in the US.

I think VW are still looking into the issue and just disconnecting them now as a precaution.

When I messaged VWA they hadn't heard anything so am assuming that they won't even acknowledge the recall as Australia doesn't have as strict recall laws vs US

I think you might be right VWA probably doesn't see this as a big issue to make this a recall. They'll just fix the odd problem (if it occurs) under warranty.

With all the dieselgate issues in the US and their propensity for litigation VW in the US has probably gone down the "safe" road and issued a recall. At the moment I don't believe there's a fix and they're just disabling/disconnecting so that it doesn't pose an issue for overheating.

If it's not specifically listed in the specs (ambient lighting on sunroof) then they can still sell the cars without the option. I believe some people in the US were offered cash back because the car was delivered without the feature (when it was advertised with it).

The specs just mention ambient lighting
i guess I’m no worse off than a non-sunroof model

Can anyone confirm MY20 Allspace comes with this LED strip around pano roof? And did you guys have anything applied to pano roof like tint or UV protection film? Dealer is doing the tint for me and he said something like having UV protection films applied to rear door windows. I guess boot window is just applied with normal tint?

Get your tint done yourself later Dealer will rip you off bigtime and you can get it done for about1/3 of his price later and probably a better quality tint.
NEVER take paint treatment ,tint or other **** from a dealer. Even if he says its free and in the price rest assured the cost is worked into what you pay at an inflated price

No need for tint on the pano roof...it has some tint/UV protection out of the factory.
See how you go without it, and if you decide you’d like it tinted, then as per Hillbilly, get it done then.
Lots of recommendations for tint folk on these forums

Thanks for the heads up. I wouldn’t feel comfortable having it done on a brand new car as well. It’s good to know that there is some sort of protection in it.

Yeah it is true, so I asked him to include it after the deal was done.
