In case someone didn’t notice we didn’t get the dealer to install the roof rails. I asked them to take them off as I didn’t like the look of them installed

Yes I noticed that. I'm not a massive fan of the standard OEM option roof rails. It looks like they used the same supplier as for the gen1 Tig which have a similar high clearance from the roof. This is mainly to ensure that if you have a sunroof that when you open it you still have clearance to the bar. But if you don't have a sunroof you end up with bars sitting miles up in the air.

I had a set of Whispbar aero roof rails permanently attached to my gen1 Tig. They looked nice and added a touch to the car. But these would have clearance issues with a sunroof.

Just picked up our new black Adventure with driver assist. Lovely layout, impressive tech. A little mystified by some of the options (android Auto in particular) but overall happy. Roofracks will be coming off almost immediately- there is a significant resonance hum/wind noise.

And sorry to Adventure owners but those racks look crap. Why couldn't VW fit low profile racks.

Congrats on your new car you are going I love it. With my car approaching almost 4 months now we took it for a country drive last week and just love it.

We in fact also asked dealer to not even install those roof racks as what I was told is that these come on a boat in a box and are installed just before delivery. So mine are still sitting in a box Tiguan Adventure
