    Tiguan 2018 AFS Error

Hi All, my Tiggy developed an AFS Error a couple of days ago. The troubleshooting I have done indicates that the passenger side LED headlight cluster is the cause. When you start up the car, headlights used to do a movement check with moving up and down and side to side. The passenger headlight does not do that (drivers side does). The main beams are working but the cornering static light does not come on either (drivers side does).

The headlight assembly looks pretty sealed and I believe there is a kit that is required, as to open the areas you have to cut sections out and use the kit to screw a new cover on.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone has had this issue and whether they managed to fix it. Currently I have my car booked into the local Volkswagen dealership to review and fix but not for another week or so. I'm hoping it is a warranty repair otherwise I could be up for about $3k - $5k for a replacement unit.

Any info or help would be appreciated.

Hi All, I fixed the issue. It was a 5amp fuse with a hairline break, one that is not listed in the manual as to what it is for. Been hunting forums for any post on what the fuses were for and finally found a post that has some info which I used to test the fuses. That led me to the particular culprit.

Great news and nice easy fix - maybe post some photos and a link so others can reference if they ever need to

    No probs, here ya go.

This is the fuse assembly in my dash on the tiggy.

Fuses 32 to 37 are shown but not advised what they are used for in the manual that came with the car.

My problem related to fuse 37, from browsing the forums I was able to find the info below.

That led me to check carefully fuse 37 which had become open circuit with a very tiny gap that you could only see when you took it out and shone a torch through the side.

Hope this helps anyone in the future.
