Hi, I meant to post an update earlier. As usual, the dealer did not find anything unusual. Perhaps that’s how they are....

The vibration is obvious more so accelerating slight uphill. I’m quite an observant person, so it is definitely there, just being able to replicate it for the mechanic.

for me, its most obvious on smooth roads, sit at around 2500rpm then floor it .under the same situation, but going around a corner, with the steering wheel is not centred then it won't do it. the vibration is sensitive to low down torque so up around 5-6000 amp its not there......i work in the new car area and drove a new triton and under acceleration , the tail shaft vibrates . also, my old hq kingswood did this. The Tig on the other hand, should be super smooth at all times, like my 2015 r line i traded on this 162 r line...i will keep you posted.

Could be that your tyres are cold and not getting enough bite?

I have continental's on mine...doesn't feel like tyres. It responds to increasing torque. It might end up being exhaust resonance . Who knows. I'm not sure these types of vibrations are actually covered by warranties anyway....will keep you posted when i visit the dealer.

If I was told something like that I would instantly say let's go for a ride in one of you stock vehicles and see if it does the same thing.

Good thinking, but this dealer’s sales division is away from the service center, so no new cars there.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but if you’re accelerating hard or uphill, could it be traction control kicking in?
Have you tried to turn it off and see if you still get the vibration?

hi, and thanks for the reply.

it couldn't be traction control as traction control only kicks in when a wheel is breaking traction. this is not the case with this vibration as it happens when increasing the load on the driveline but not breaking traction..if anyone has ever driven an old car with rear wheel drive, come of the old cars had slight drive shaft vibration because they were out of balance. this vibration I'm talking about is similar, but slightly higher in frequency and only there under some situations and felt more through the steering wheel than the floor.

Been thinking about this one again. Took my Tiggy for a bit of a strap to see if I could replicate what you are describing.

If I'm booting it I can get a little vibration through the wheel and seat. And feel it somewhat through the footwell. It's not a massive amount.

What I'm thinking is the engine movement due to torque is loading up the dogbone mount and causing the vibration to be transmitted. It's similar to the vibration felt when adding one of the dogbone inserts and it's specific to the Rev range where torque is greater.
