Gee Hillbilly, that's a bit harsh. I previously used CD audio books for long boring trips Sydney/Melbourne, or Sydney/Brisbane and all around regional NSW. Later concentrated on audio books on DVD (Much safer as not tempted to change disc in traffic) BUT my work required me to have mobile phone access while traveling. This had to used with care: either pull over or else ask for call back until safe.
I also specified Dynaudio for previous Golf and present Passat. I like my classical music. Perhaps I should be concerned not to play Brahms Lullaby? Re USB and SD cards please pardon my bemusement regarding this lack. I was hoping that VW had some sort of friendly way of installing music, prerecorded podcasts etc etc into the car radio hard drive. (As in Passat).
