Yeah I can see me getting away with that one. I need to have a spare set of wheels/tyres so I wash one set and drive on the other...

Actually once you get the BBS CH-R up into larger sizes the large centre design become less prominent and the wheel start to work OK.

I've found the CH to be centre heavy but the CH-R has always been a classic for me, and a more affordable alternative than LMs.

With roof rails, but that didn't really come up well:

Talking about black packs I've just ordered some Forever Black and will be blacking out all my lower trims:

After speaking to a painter it all got expensive and hard. You really need to remove all trims from the car and the labour involved plus risk of damaging body panels in the process just wasn't worth it for either party.

Considered vinyl wrapping but that has it's own set of challenges and realistically plastic panels would need to be filled and sanded before wrapping (so you may as well paint).

Which left me with plasti-dip or plastic restoration/treatment. I decided to go down the latter path as I did plasti-dip on the 125TSI Tig and although it turned out OK I'm keen to see how the Forever Black goes as it has some good reviews.

Just been informed that my intake isn't going to get shipped out until after the 14th January. Also the wheels have been ordered and they are likely to be a couple of weeks too...

Careful where you open that product mate, the latte-sippers will have you otherwise.

Painted the lower trims last night:

I'm 90% happywith the result. There's some streaks in it which I'll have to fix up but that comes from putting the second coat on in the half-dark. It still is a different colour/texture to the body panels (to be expected) but it does blend in a lot better than the grey plastic.

It's easy to apply and simple to clean up any paint that has touched a body panel/silver trim with a wet cloth.

In comparison to plasti-dip which I've used before the Forever Black is a little harder to get an even finish (due to brush applicator rather than spray), however I think the finish is better and certainly less "rubbery". Time will tell how it stands up.

Looks great! Any special prep required?
Keen to see how it holds up to wear.... but I guess it’ll be easy to re-coat.

The kit comes with a cleaning solution which is designed to take off dirt/oils/coatings. You do need to make sure the plastic is clean before applying the coating.

And yes if it last 6-12 months and then I have to re-coat I'm not going to be too fussed. There's still plenty left in the bottle.
