Ran some stock 0-100 times today...

    Without LC:

    With LC:

Using G-tech 20Hz GPS timer. 8 satellites so decent level of accuracy. I ran a couple of runs in each direction on a flat road so results are reasonably consistent.

VW claimed figure in their brochure for the 162TSI Highline is 6.5sec so this is confirmed

That’s a massive difference with LC. Well done getting the stock base line stats. With your runs did you have ESC on sport and DCC on sport? Now looking forward to the hybrid IS38 times...

Yes LC makes a decent difference to getting off the line. ESC Sport and DCC on sport. You're already at 3,500rpm so pick-up is pretty much instant. Plus I found that the gear changes were a lot harder when launching than normal.

Reasonably impressive for a stock SUV.

This time around I'm making sure I have a good baseline for comparison

I terms of end game that is still up in the air. One of my main concerns is to maintain the drive-ability. High flow IS38's don't really come on hard until 4,000rpm. I'm looking at a punchy street car and not a track/drag car. Considering high flow IS20, IS38, hybrid IS38 pros and cons at the moment. It comes down to $ and bang for buck plus overall drive-ability in the end.

I'd like to get 250kwaw and sub 4's 0-100 but I'm not sure at this point whether this is something that I want to sacrifice the daily driving for and whether I can achieve both outright performance and responsiveness.

Sounds about right for a LC "benefit".

Can't have you knocking me off, I may need that tweak down the track after all.

You'll be safe for a little time yet... 5 pot will always have the edge in terms of engine/exhaust note.

Bang for bucks is definitely IS38 stock turbo. Brand new for $2k or second hand for half that. Hybrid IS38s are x2 or more the cost, and from what I’ve seen don’t deliver twice the performance. Not sure about hi-flo IS38 and the incremental benefits over stock. In saying all of that it would be awesome to see a hybrid IS38 Tiguan with more than 400HP.

Use VCDS or OBDEleven and disable the torque reduction, feels like it allows a bit more slip and launches heaps harder

Yes IS38 is a reasonable option, however I don’t think it’ll take me to sub 4’s. But maybe I shouldn’t be aiming for this with a 2 litre 4 pot and still maintain a good response.
