I think it's being let down a bit by the stock tyres to be honest.

I'm guessing if I looked after them the stock tyres would do 35,000-40,000km. I'm currently at 23,500km and there's a decent amount of life left in them.

My 20 inch Contis are worn out at 30000.

I think you’ll find the 255/40R20’s on the R-line are more a performance SUV tyre so 30,000km isn’t unreasonable.

My Sportline came with Pirelli Scorpion Verde in 235/45R20 and according to the marketing these are a “green” tyre designed for lower rolling resistance/emissions and higher mileage.

That's unlucky! My Sportline came with the Continentals, reckon I'll be lucky to get much past 30k on them. 18k now...

I think it's luck of the draw what your car gets delivered with. It'll either be Continentals or Pirelli usually as I think that's who supplies the factory in Germany.

I've been asked about the exhaust which I'm currently running which is a non-resonated 3" DP and stock Tiguan cat-back.

There's certainly a bit more noise than stock but it's certainly not a massive increase. There's no drone and you do get more farts when pushing harder in S or M. So that's the good bit.

The bad bit is that the farts don't sound fantastic - they're a longer note and sound like it's struggling to get these out rather than a crisp brap. I suspect this is due to the larger rear muffler. Also on cold start the DP has a tinny ringing note which quietens down when the exhaust is up to temperature.
