    Tailgate Kessy Issues

Often, when I walk up to my locked vehicle, I cannot open the tailgate using the the button above the license plate. The kick to open never works. I have to use the fob to open the tailgate.

I've had it to the dealer, but it seemed to work then!

Can someone tell me where the kessy sensor for the tailgate is located? I had a trailer hitch installed and am wondering if it blocked the sensor and needs to be relocated.

I think then sensor is in line with the RHS tail light cluster. Mine doesn’t seem to work 100% either especially if the surface isn’t smooth.

Remember you need to have the key with you for it to work.

One thing I have noticed is that if I have my key in my pocket while washing the car the hose sets it off and that always works!

Make sure you have this enabled in the vehicle setting - I think it’s in the doors and opening section and is called “easy open”

Swiping with your foot should work between both sets of sensors. Between the 2 on the right and 2 on the left. Make sure 2nd set of keys not left inthe car.

And make sure after sweeping your foot you step back a couple of paces.

I found that kicking under the rear sensor (either), straight under the car works 100% of the time. Swiping or sweeping my foot works 50% of the time. As all of them need to have the key in your pocket And I can’t get it to work if the drivers door is open.

How do you go with the tow bar, does it get in the way?
I find I have to come in off centre on one side of the tow bar, and occasionally knock my shin on it....

    Interesting...
I find if the drivers door is open when I start the ignition, I can't switch driver profiles when the active dash fires up.
I have to switch through the menus in the central AV display
This happen to any one else?

The sensor is 20cm on the left or right of the tow bar so not even close to kicking the tow bar.
