Surf/Wet Key

Hi Everyone,

Just bought a Tiguan and need to get a Surf/Wet Key cut for it, so we can go diving.

Does anyone know of somewhere in the Sydney area where we can get one made?

Its a 2018 Tiguan, so has the cutting of the key down the edge of the blade too.

Can't seem to find anyone that can cut them and dealers $400+

We have a key safe, but would prefer to have that in the boot, rather than hanging outside the car.

Buy yourself a surf lock box. You can disable the proximity key by locking the car with the fob and immediately putting your finger on the lock sensor on the door handle.

Thanks, we already have a decent surf box, but would prefer it locked inside the car, like our old one was.

A surf key would be ideal, the box outside the car would be a last resort kinda thing, as it advertises that you're away from the car for a long time.

A suf key would make me feel safer.

Surf Lock - Car Key Security Padlock are decent. Most of the other surf branded lock boxes will only last a couple of years if you're frequently at the beach. I secure mine on the door handle and most of them have a plastic cover on the bolt to protect your paint.

how do you re-enable it?
does it just reset once to turn the ignition on?

Nice, didn't know you could disable the prox key. How do you re-enable it ?

Its re-enabled when you unlock with the key fob.
