Rust on boot strut washer

Has anybody noticed this washer rusting at the end of the boot strut where it is attached to the body?
This is the same on both struts.
I've only done 11000KM in 2 years and it has been garaged at night and under covered parking most days for its life.
I've also been in the habit of wiping water out of the sills and gutters after washing exactly to prevent such things.

Has any had experience with getting dealers to rectify such things? OR should I just give it a wipe with some rust inhibitor and move on.

I’m in no position to advise on such things

if it were my car with that small rusty washer, I would probably muse over it for months and lose sleep. It’s always easier when it’s someone else’s car

Lanolin spray is your friend for things like that, IMO anyway. Stops the corrosion in its tracks and doesn’t retain too much grunge.
