    Rline Ceramic Coating

My brother-in-law recently picked up he's 162 R-line (copied me) and took it straight to Liquid R for interior and external ceramic coating.

    Looks pretty under their lights.

Cost him $1500 for interior / exterior and tinted windows.

Looks amazing! Thanks for sharing the photos. Might investigate this for mine when it arrives.... Coincidently, this place is literally around the corner from me

I will see how long the costing lasts. He hardly drives it as he has another 'train' car he uses every day so it should last him a long time.

    Looks great!

Keen to know how long these coatings last for? Many of them offer lifetime warranties which seems to imply they last a long time, but I always thought it was a hard-wearing sacrificial coating.

The ceramic coatings last a long time 5+ years minimum i have had my ceramic coat (pomponazzi) for 10 months now car is always outdoors no undercover parking ever and looks like new when i wash it
The bird poo and dirt/grime come off easy as and leave no stain on the car i will be getting a claybar clean done by my detailer every 12 months just to keep it looking smick (hate winter weather tho always raining/drizzling up in the hills atm wash the car and next drive its dirty again )

I recon they offer that as most people don't keep a car these days for a life time, the TIG is not that special that I would consider keeping it forever.

Most of the lifetime warranties have a condition attached that you have to get it inspected every year, which costs money.

My own experience with Opticoat was that I did this for a couple of years and then got over it.

It’s still definitely there four years on but doesn’t bead as well as it used to because the car probably needs to be taken to with a clay bar

Yeah you are correct to get the best out of a coating a claybar yearly is a must like anything else if its not maintained it will degrade

I’m starting to regret not getting mine treated. Polishing is fun the first few times but 9 months in and I’m over it.
Is is still possible to get treated effectively now my paint is not factory new?

Yes they can do a stage 2 paint correction then the coat. Cars 30+ years old with original paint are getting done.
