    Reverse rear assist too sensitive

My allspace slams on the brakes when I’m reversing out of my driveway, about 40% of the time. as it incorrectly senses the road as an object to be avoided.

My driveway is a 7 degree slope down and at the point the rear wheels are in the gutter, it’s about 10 degrees.

No part of the car(or my previous, lowered ‘sport’ cars) get close to touching the ground. That’s with tow bars on all cars, too.

Is there a way to fix this, as it’s embarrassing and physically annoying.

    Cheers.

Ha ha, I only laugh because I share your pain...

My driveway is the reverse. It slopes quite steeply from the road to the garage.
If I am going a bit too quick into the garage by reversing, mine does the same thing.
The simplest solution I have found so far is to go slower when I get near that point
Otherwise, the rear assist comes on and I stop....ha ha

Yes, when the reverse camera is on you will see two buttons on the left. One will stop the beeping and has a speaker in the picture, the other has an A inside a circle and will turn off the auto emergency brake for the reverse..

Annoying I know, but you will also adjust to it. Used to happen all the time but now angle the reverse in a way that it doesn't activate..

I just keep thinking if it saves me once then it will be worth the annoyance!

Cheers both of you. I’ll play with that button and see what happens.

There may be some sensitivity settings in VCDS that you can play with also. But then these will be in effect all the time.

I’ve noticed that front/side and back sensors play it VERY safe in their alerts. Once it goes red and a solid tone, there’s still about 50-70cm room to the ‘imminent’ object.

Would be good to have this tuned like every other car in the world, where the word imminent is applied correctly (10cm)
