The kids are always envious about the front seat heating in the winter. Does anyone know if rear seat heating can be retrofitted easily, without changing the seats? As far as I'm aware the highline comes with rear seat heating.

Highline does (he/she has an allspace- the best Tiguan ). I suspect the actual seat base is different, rather than just an option un-ticked.
Tried looking at parts.vw.com and can find the front seat heating pads, but nothing for the rear seats. Edit: found this page: HEATED OUTER REAR SEATS - VW Tiguan MK2 Forums

I don't see any options for heated rear seats on my highline. I'm curious now , if someone has this option?
There's a spot in the fuse box for heated rear seats.

As the op is aware and I already mentioned- for others benefit, the allspace highline has heated rear seats. Just a feature vw added to the allspace range to justify the price increase.
In aus no swb tigs have heated rear seats.
Easily retrofitted with aftermarket heating pads and switches. Retrofitting with genuine would likely be cost inhibitive.
Cheers
