    The IE intake sounds great and I don't have any rattles or vibration from it whats so ever. Have you checked all fittings to see if something is touching, like the intake elbow?

    That’s awesome economy. I sit around 11.5 for around town and lucky to get below 8 on highway.
    Best yet was returning from Qld and got low 7s, but that was fully loaded with a bike rack and roof pod
    got just over 700kms on a tank of 98

    Mine didn’t start for a few weeks after install.
    Yep, that’s the problem area. I advised Gordie not to install yours too deep into the silicon sleeve, as that’s what fixed mine up. Will be keen to know if you notice anything further down the track.

    Cheers PDMJO. Still haven't got any noise from it and I use the everyday. Really enjoy the induction noises pre-boost.
    The only noise I do get (slight knock) but only at start-up is what I think maybe the inlet elbow metal bracket hits the bulkhead on start-up or maybe the downpipe. Gordie will check this out.

    Today I managed to score a MK7.5 rear valved muffler and center resonator that was removed at 300kms all for $200. I seen on the Fb posts that you can buy a kit to work the valves via wireless remote, I may consider this or just weld the valves open/closed to suit the sound I desire.

    Some exhaust places are being hard to deal with in terms of fitting things up and have 6-8 week for bookings, might have to buy a welder and do it myself! Unless someone knows someone that can do it around Melbourne this Saturday???

    Nice work! I'm still on the hunt for an exhaust. I actually know where there is one without the valve actuators but apparently the owner still wants it (even though it's sat at the workshop since the start of the year).

    I'm just waiting for it to get tossed in the dumpster...

    Thanks! He turned out to be 5 mins from my work, so done deal.

    Maybe borrow the exhaust and then eventually when the owner wants to claim it, say 9/10ths of the law its now mine! You snooze you lose haha

    You got a good deal. Most people will swap over the actuators onto the new exhaust if it has valves. Cost of the actuators is $400 each from VW... so if you can get them it's a good thing.

    If it’s the same issue as mine, just pull the inlet elbow pipe even further out of the silicon sleeve attached to the turbo, such that there’s even less overlap. If that’s indeed the problem you’ll notice that knock disappear immediately.
