If you read the write-up on the Rancingline brakes (345mm) it clearly states in there that it's the performance after multiple stops that they're selling not the outright stopping performance on a single stop: Racingline Performance Monoblock Brake Upgrade - MK7 R/GTI, S3, VRS - Harding Performance

Yes the Racingline was comparison between stock Golf R and Racingline.
There's actually not a lot in it between the stock AWD Tig brakes and the Golf R set-up:
Tig FWD front: 312 x 25mm
Tig AWD front: 340 x 30mm
Golf R front: 340 x 30mm
Tig FWD rear: 300 x 12mm
Tig AWD rear: 300 x 12mm
Golf R rear: 310 x 22mm
The calipers are different between the Golf R and the Tig. Most of the heavy braking is getting done on the fronts and they're the same diameter/thickness. The Golf is 100kg or so lighter so it's going to pull up better than the Tig just on that basis.

I'm running an Etuners Motorsport tune. Files get written in Greece, Gordy converts them for local fuel here and either writes them into cars he has or sends them to Adelaide for Haines Mechanical to write to the car.
Our ECU's will likely be the same/very similar. Yes our hardware set-ups are going to be slightly different, however they're likely going to run into the same challenges with getting the ECU. Issues at the moment are getting the car to run higher boost without freaking out and going into protection mode.
I believe I'm running around 23psi currently. Car is rapid. It's going to be stupid quick when it's running 26-27psi.

I would be interested in the golf R caliper differences. Piston size, pad area etc are also important to compare. Not just diameter and thickness.
At most I'd be going a stage 1 setup with an R turbo transplant. Never going to track it. So something to prevent a little bit of fade at the bottom of a spirited hinterland cruise is all I would be after. The few K difference between a 4 pot and a 6 pot could be better spent on strippers and beer.
Ok that makes sense. Would of thought most would develop their own tunes then customize to each individual spec. I'm guessing nobody has done this MQB spec yet or not?
Wow thats a decent amount of boost! What sort of power are you expecting with new boost pressures? Stock is peaks around 15-16 psi then tapers off. I can't monitor mine (performance screen) as my Discovery Pro don't have it installed, only have offroad and a few others. Do you if there a app that I can use with the Obdeleven?

I'm going to confirm my order on the brakes tomorrow. Just waiting on one more quotation in the morning.
Will get the Alcon 6 pots with either the Forza 375x30mm or DBA 5000 378x32mm. The other supplier is working on a Wilwood or Brembo package to suit.
The rears will be Forza 350x22mm (or DBA) with existing caliper.

Yes there will be a base map that the tuner works from. They would also be working off the turbo specs but it will be a bit more work / fine tuning as they haven't tuned this set-up before.
I'm not sure the boost screen works when boost pressure is over stock levels. I've had a boost tap installed (but no boost gauge) and have had the boost logged on the dyno as well as with VCDS. I only have VCDS - no apps.

Ah ok so your mechanic would work of mine then fine tune your to suit your build. I'm surprised not many Tig's has had this done but I suppose they 'all waiting for the warranties to expire before tinkering.
I only have the off-road displaysthe oil & water temp and a compassand a few others pointless displays. Just thought it'll would be handy to have since it is integrated into the system somewhere, well not in mine anyway. Besides that I'll like to keep the interior as is rather then a race car.
