Is the R-line package worth it for an extra $4K ?

To get the body kit for the R-line, you would first need to go to the spare parts department and buy all the exterior pieces for the bumpers, wheel arches and lower door panels.

Next you would need to take all of these parts to a crash shop and have the sprayed to body colour as the parts you would come either on primer or bare plastic (most likely).

Then you would either need to fit them or pay for them to be fitted.

A few people looked into doing this for the Gen1 Tig when R-line was only available overseas. The price to do it was eye watering and nobody ever went down that path. I would expect with the fancy bumpers on the Gen2 R-line it would be even worse.

If you look at the comparison images on the first page of the thread you'll see the R-Line rear spoiler is bit bigger an extends out a bit more over the rear window. To update the wheels alone is at least a couple of grand.

Now that I look closer at the back of both I can see what you are saying

It does look a bit plain, agree. R Line makes it look very nice.

However we budgeted for a comfortline but extended to a highline, so for us the R line was a bit out of reach, especially since I made a deal with the misus if we keep costs down, I can replace the VW Polo with a car I like in about 3 years time.

Does the Tiguan Highline with Rline maintain its resale value better compared with the stock Highline ?
Wow, that does look quite different. R Line is very worth it depending on budget. Only thing I don't like is the car appears to have less ground clearance. For me an SUV should have higher ground clearance. I still wish they had an adventure model with DAP when I was negotiating.

Saying that, for those who have the budget, go for the R line.

Does the Tiguan Highline have a lower ground clearance with the R-line body kit and 20" wheels ?

Both listed as 201cm but the colour coded lower panels give the impression of it being lower.

In the VW Tiguan catalog, it has under the 'R-line package'

"Rear bumper with sports diffuser in gloss black" - Optional (for Highline)

Has anyone bought this optional extra with their R-line package ?

If so, how much did you pay and does it look any good ?
