Price on a USED MY18 Tiguan w/ R Line and DAP?

I was going to suggest you use the Valuation section of the Carsales app - I’m the iOS Team Lead at Carsales - but I searched and the R-line is not listed yet. I’ll ask the boys in the Redbook team when we’ll have the data.

The trouble is that, no matter the car, they all take a huge depreciation hit as soon as you drive them off the lot. It makes no difference if it is your pride and joy with all the whistles and bells. Many of the higher prices on carsales are "aspirational", and in the end they don't sell for anything like the initial advertised price.

So you can start by listing it for close to $50k, but you need to have patience, as it can take months to sell a used car privately unless it is a realistic price.

this is the truth about used cars.

the ones presented and priced well, they just sell within hours or days.

the rest that remain listed, often they have been listed for sale for months and months.

some say, as soon as you drive out from the dealership yard, you loose 30%.. unless it is a unique and exotic, limited production and high demand supercar.

I guess 30% depreciation for a MY18 car is a bit exaggerated as in Australia 2nd hand car market is reasonablly healthy ( I have sold 3 cars on carsales website with the price I wanted over the last 10yers). According to redbook

A MY17 162 has lost 20% of value and if u open the link with a computer (not with your phone) you can find the original cost of the options ( DAP + Lux pack + sunroof = $8000 extra ) . So 40k + 6k option = 46k plus rego and SD that will be close to 48k diveaway for the next owner for MY17. And because it is MY18 and low k you are looking at a bit more.

Like other said the first price u put is to test the market, if no one is enquiring u need to lower the price after let say a month.

I remember when I was selling my well kept 2009 E91 last year I got 1 enquiry everyday ( from all over the country) until the car was sold. ( This told me the price was set too low but I just wanted to get rid of the car)
