playing video on discover media - Working via android phones

So in my first two weeks and playing around I have worked out how to play videos via android on the standard Discover Media, here is how its done.

Go into phone settings, system, about phone, then tap the build number 5 times. Enter you pin and this turns on developer mode.

Then go back to settings and scroll down to developer modes, make sure developer is turned on then scroll down and find force activities to be resized and enable that.

Next install from playstore rock scout (a official mirrorlink app) once installed, then install floating apps.

Load both to configure and allow permissions.

Now make sure you don't have android auto set to autostart, connect via USB, select mirror link, then you get apps, but you will notice two overlapping boxes white with blue outlines on discover screen, press these on discover screen and a app list comes up select video for video files on your phone or YouTube for playing video content and it's as easy as that.

Ok slight update on some findings with discover media, could not find flac file support listed (high def audio) but thought I would try it anyway and it just played the album from the folder, I also made sure I copied both flac and mp3 version of the album over to see if it actually made a difference in quality of sound and it did... go figure, you think VW would advertise it supports high def audio...
