Vw have touch up paint ,just buy a small bottle every one get chips .
Hi,
Just wanted to see if any other owners are concerned about the quality of the paint work on their Mk2 Tiguan.
Our is a 162 in orange - now 18 months old. There is nothing wrong with the paint work as such until you have a little nick or touch. We have about 4 such marks on the car now. None are major but on each occasion it looks like the top coat (the orange) has just peeled away and what we are left with are these white spots. Presumably the body in white base coat. The largest on the drivers doors edge is a few mm long and say a mm wide.
We have one of these spots on the front bumper - a plastic part and two on the doors which are of course metal. Same result a small white spot. Given that the first example was on the bumper I thought it might have been a bonding issue between the paint and the plastic but the paint to metal outcome seems to be exactly the same. These are just car park touches - car to car or perhaps involving a trolley.
I've owned other metallic painted cars and have not seen anything like this. It seems that once the contact with the paint and the body is compromised in any way the paint just falls off.
The car is booked for service in about 10 days and will take it up with VW but before I do I was wondering if there is anyone else with a similar experience or advice?
Thanks

Yep, thanks for that. I can certainly get the touch up paint but not quite the point of my post. It was the nature of the way it chips not that fact that it has been chipped.
