OBD ELEVEN MK2 Price

I got an Email from AUTOINSTRUCT this morning saying they have 10% off Storewide

Perhaps those wanting a MK2 OBDELEVEN may be interested as is cheaper to buy one in AUS than from the VOLTAS site

Hillbilly, I think this question has been asked many times, but I’d ask again since things could be different now.

Does using OBD11 to change the settings/unlock features on your Tiguan void the warranty?

From what I read before there are mixed answers. Some said no, just need to change the setting back to default before service. But other said with recent updates, they can trace what you’ve done with the car.

Your thoughts?

How do u want to change it Mine is set to beep on lock but that can be turned off in the MIB Only other setting is lock on shutting driver door but that is stupid as it locks whether other doors are shut or not.

Some in England have changed it to lock with engine running which is illegal here anyway
As mine has only done 3k I have no idea what the dealer will say but all that you do is basically enable things that arent enabled in the model.

Eg DLA not enabled in the 5 seater but is in the Allspace so I dont see how enabling it will void a warranty.. Changing settings in the Haldex and later having problems ma be different but As I havent done that I dont care.

Ask your dealer if it will.

At the end of the day modifications to the car are at the discretion of the dealer as to what part of the warranty is voided.

I caught up with the salesman I brought my Tig from and told him I'd had a stage 3 tune done and had clearly voided warranty. After asking how much power I was putting out and being quite impressed he then said that warranty on the drive train would be void but anything else would be covered.

I also took my wife's Polo in for warranty work and I've tweaked a few things using OBDeleven (like needle sweep) and nothing was mentioned and warranty work was completed no questions asked.

This discussion keeps coming up on forums, be it OBD11 or Ross Tech cables.
OBD11 is only activating software already embedded in your vehicle, unless you apply some other code to completely replace OEM programs you are within your rights without warranty issues. It is up to the manufacture to prove any modification resulted in failure.
