Thx. NOW I understand. I don't know how much it would cost VW so maybe it is reasonable for them to not pay and would be dishonest of them to explain the situation and why they can't do it.

Nevertheless, they are misleading to the extent that their Discover Pro manual mentions the feature, with the "out" that not all features apply to all models.

I have just had the mod done it seems to be ok

I am seeing roadworks symbols on the map. If I touch a symbol I see more info about that spot. I can also touch Menu / Traffic and see a list of messages.

I was expecting to hear voice-announcements now & again. I understand they will interject even if listening to the radio or playing media, but I haven't heard any yet.

If anyone wants to get the mod done in Adelaide, here's a plug for Callum at Haines Mechanical & Detailing at Pooraka, specialising in VW, Audi, BMW & Mercs. He did it for me at no charge, while I waited. It only took 10 minutes max
