Gen 2 Tiguan 162TSI launch control

Curious to find out if mine is the same as others.

When testing launch control, the first stage will hit about 2k revs and hold the revs Thier and I have noticed on the performance gauge that boost is sitting around 10psi.

When I push the accelerator a bit further it will push the revs to about 3k but have noticed the boost monitor drops to about 5psi and there is less noticeable turbo noise whilst it's holding that rev range.

I would of assumed higher revs would of produced higher boost measurement unless this is the optimum range for launch?

(Also noting that I have just removed the snow filter and was testing to see if it made any difference in sound)

To launch "properly" you need to plant your foot on the accelerator and it will "bounce" off the launch rev limiter set at ~3k.

If you only use part throttle you won't get the full effect

Copy that.. even when at 3k revs the boost is only at 5psi vs the lower revs @ 10psi.

Just seemed odd to me.. will attempt a flat to the floor run but curious if others are at the same amount of boost on the performance guage

Just to keep the FWD crowd honest at the traffic lights GP

After my tune launch control is at 4k which spins the front wheels half way through 1st gear and is quiet quick off the line.

Will surprise more than just FWD's at the lights.

Yes, same as Golf R has. Have to go into vehicle settings and DSC off. Stock is 3000rpm, mine is 4000rpm. Launch control makes use of the AWD system well.

Might just be the 162 version as the Rline is all body mods only
